Education Institutions Expansion to Abroad is a Must

Erdem Holding Chairman of the Board Zeynel Abidin Erdem mentioned that to open a University in USA is something you should feel honored and added; “Education institutions in Turkey must spread abroad. It is not possible not to support Enver Yücel’s success to make this become true in the World’s capital city. He is always making successful businesses and I am giving my deepest felicitations to him.”

 

TOBB President Rıfat Hisarcıklıoğlu started the speech he made in the opening ceremony as giving his best regards and greetings to BAU President of Board of Trustees Enver Yücel for his vision and giving life to this important service in BAU Washington Campus. He added that 9 years before they have made an opening ceremony to an after school support center in Washington and today that investment become University.

 

USA Education Ministry Counselor Maureen McLoughlin, said that opening of the BAU Washington Campus is emphasizing on the importance of the bound between two country in the education field. He also stressed that it is very important to have qualified education and cultural transaction in today’s world and added that this kind of education investments are helping the bond between countries to get stronger. USA’s Ankara Former Ambassador James Jeffrey stated that today is tremendously important day for him and added how much big his proud is for joining this opening. Lastly, he mentioned on the extreme importance of cultural relations between Turkey and USA.

 

‘‘Some Books of Nation States Are More Dangerous Than Nuclear Weapons’’

 

Brussels – Bahçeşehir University President of Board of Trustees Enver Yücel said that, in some of the nation states in the world syllabuses are sided and he interpreted this situation as worst than a nuclear weapon. Yücel, in order to have sustainable peace environment we need to give children the culture of living together.
Besides speakers from all over the world, Bahçeşehir University President of Board of Trustees Enver Yücel was also attended to the “Building Bridges between Countries” panel in the European Parliament. He mentioned to otherness and added that not only Middle East is having frictions in community but also European Countries are having problems to live with different cultures and civilizations. Yücel notes that “Living in a globalized world thanks to the technology, everyone connects to each other with bridges but the content of the bridges are not firm. The purpose of education shouldn’t be just to improve science and technology. “To me we must inject our children the culture of living together. The children are born innocent, but what happened to us? Why can’t we get along with each other? Today we are going on the subject of nuclear disarmament, especially in the places where these can be produced. To me there are more dangerous books than nuclear weapons in the world. If we examine the lecture books of many nation states, we will see that there is not good information on fraternity there. We are teaching different things to children.”

Enver Yücel was born in 1957 in Giresun and he studied at Hayarpaşa High School that was a boarding school. After he graduated from the Mathematics Department of the Atatürk Education Institute at Marmara University, which is now known as the Marmara University Faculty of Education.
