BAU Commemorates “Itri” in the Vatican
The launch of the book, “The Diplomatic Relationship of the Vatican and Turkey,” will be done at the Vatican on 7 June 2012. Before the launch, Bahçeşehir University Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Enver Yücel, will meet Pope Benedict the 16th.
The book, written by Turkey Catholic and Spiritual Institution historian and culture attaché, Rinaldo Marmara, has a special value since it contains information, original documents and photos never before published.
Bahçeşehir University will also take part in another art event via this launch taking place at the Palace of the Chancellery with the coordination of Vatican Embassy. BAU will be arranging a concert to commemorate famous musician Itri, as UNESCO announced 2012 as the “Year of Itri.” The great musician and songwriter of the 17th Century will be remembered with a concert led by TRT artist Bekir Reha Sağbaş.

Enver Yücel was born in 1957 in Giresun and he studied at Hayarpaşa High School that was a boarding school. After he graduated from the Mathematics Department of the Atatürk Education Institute at Marmara University, which is now known as the Marmara University Faculty of Education.
