Excellence in International Education Prize to Enver Yücel

Bahçeşehir University Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Enver Yücel, has been given the “Excellence in International Education” Award due to his great and innovative work, and contributions to global  education by the American Education Association. Yücel received his award from Dr. Lind K. Patterson who works as the New York University PDK department head and Gene J. Mann who is the vice- head of the department.

 

Dr. Patterson provided information about the innovative and successful activities Mr Yücel has contributed in terms of education for the world and Turkey before presenting him with the prize. He stated that Mr. Yücel established K-12 Schools and test preparation centers, which have spread throughout Turkey and declared Bahçeşehir University to be one of the world’s leading institutions. He also said, “Mr Yücel provides ESL programs to international students. He also established the Washington, D.C.-based Harriet Fulbright College for seminars and certificate programs for different departments of Bahçeşehir University, as well as for education institutions in Eastern Europe and Central Asia. These institutions provide education to more than 120,000 students from the age of three and up. Mr. Yücel, who also acts as the Chairman of the “All Private Institutions Association” leads many projects such as the Global Citizenship project.

 

The event was held in the Torch Club of NYU with successful Turkish and American academicians in attendance at the event.
