FOR EQUALITY OF OPPORTUNITY IN EDUCATION

Bahçeşehir University Board of Trustees Chairman, Enver Yücel expressed his satisfaction about the meeting with Irina Bokova and offered his thanks. Also expressing his happiness about the “Itri Memorial Ceremony and Concert” that was organized in cooperation between UNESCO and Bahcesehir in the Vatican, Enver Yücel said that, “We have decided to establish cooperation with UNESCO. In the next period, we will have collaboration and will sign new projects on peace, intercultural dialogue, and inequality of opportunity in education. Our goal is to establish cultural bridges that will contribute to sustainable peace all over the world. We will conduct studies on the protection of cultural values in Balkan countries.”

 

Priority issues of the cooperation between Bahçeşehir University and UNESCO will be education and culture. Cooperation will eliminate the inequality of opportunity in education and recognize the opportunity to establish cultural dialogue which is aimed at the realization of the project. The famous composer and musician Itri will be remembered on the 300th anniversary of his death with a concert and ceremony at a salon located in UNESCO Headquarters that has a capacity of 200 people. UNESCO will host the presentation, “The River Flowing Westward” which screens the untold story of civilization development through today with the co-production of Bahçeşehir University Civilization Studies Center (MEDAM) and Bahçeşehir University’s Faculty of Communication.
